Everyone that makes himself little in this world for the sake of Christ and his gospel will be great in the world to come
Gross sinners that genuinely repent are more pleasing to God than ostentatious professors of their faith that do not repent
Jesus' disciples do not understand his constant teaching about his violent death at the instigation of the Jewish authorities
Jesus is the Messiah who would be condemned to death by the Jews to suffer our punishment for our sins for us
Herod cannot escape his guilt for killing John the Baptist, for Jesus awakens his conscience to accuse him anew
Jesus transforms the humble who admit that they are sinners and come to him with genuine repentance
It is never too late to convert to Christ, for all that do so will be equally justified
The word of God produces either good or bad fruit, depending on the way we receive it
All will be destroyed by the wrath of God for their sins, except those that accept the Savior that he has sent us
As God has forgiven us an immense debt that we could not pay, so also we must forgive those that offend us
The faith that justifies is sincerely repentant and intends to stop sinning gravely
False religious teachers do incalculable harm to the Church
Jesus' commandment to love is far above the natural human understanding of love
Helping those in need is permitted on the Lord's Day
Fraternal correction in the Church, which is a forgiving community, and the riots in our country
Christ dispenses from the ceremonial law in a case of necessity, but not from the moral law
Jesus brings us new wine and new life, but fasting is still important in the Christian life
Even though Peter feels unworthy in the presence of Christ, Christ nonetheless calls him to be a fisher of men
