God does not positively will the diversity of religions. He simply allows this diversity in his permissive will in order to give people free will
Humility is the beginning of saving religion. It is knowing your own sinfulness and your need of Christ’s redemption
Even at a festive sabbath meal with non-disciples, Jesus is always the same serious teacher
The apostles were Jesus’ inner circle of assistants who would preach the gospel dispensation for the salvation of the world
As Jesus released this bent-over woman, so he releases sinners who put their faith in him
The risen Jesus appears to the eleven apostles on a mountain in Galilee and sends them out to make disciples of all nations
There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ, for God has condemned our sins in Christ’s flesh on the cross
We should be reconciled with God now while we have the opportunity, lest we be forced to pay the last penny when we meet him as judge on judgment day
Christ came ultimately to bring peace on earth, but in the short run he brings much division
Jesus sends his disciples to evangelize, to preach the good news of God’s salvation in Jesus Christ
Jesus’ death on the cross atoned for the sins of the world by his taking our place and suffering our punishment for our sins for us
God does not positively will the diversity of human religions, but only permits them in his permissive will for the sake of giving us free will
St. Paul doubles down that we are justified by faith, not by works, for justification is a free gift of God that comes to us by our faith and is not earned by our good works
Even though God declared ungodly sinners righteous, he was just in doing so, because Jesus’ death made full satisfaction for their sins, which were duly punished in his flesh on the cross
As Jesus condemned the lack of faith of his generation, we should do the same to our generation
Today Jesus teaches us the way of perfection, a higher state of life for the few that feel called to it
We are justified by faith, not by works, but we become holy and blessed by hearing the word of God and keeping it
Jesus’ casting out demons shows that the kingdom of God is arriving in him, and all must either be for him or against him
God will answer our prayers if they are in accord with his will and we make them with faith and importunity
The neighbor whom we are to love as ourselves is everyone everywhere of every race, nationality, and religion
