Jesus stays behind in Jerusalem without notifying his parents, because he must be about his Father’s business
The birth of the Messiah and Savior of the world is announced to shepherds keeping watch over their flock by night
Zechariah rejoices in the birth of the Savior and Messiah, for whom his son, John the Baptist, will prepare the way
The angel striking Zechariah dumb for not believing him transformed Zechariah into an obedient servant of the Lord
Mary will virginally conceive the Messiah by the power of the Holy Spirit, and he will reign forever
Mary has just received the greatest possible good news. She has conceived the Messiah
Mary is with child by the Holy Spirit. Joseph, therefore, should not fear to take her as his wife
The scepter and ruler’s staff will belong Judah until Jesus, the Prince of Peace, reigns from the throne of David over an everlasting kingdom
John was a wilderness prophet, not a weak, spineless reed shaken by the wind, nor a man dressed in soft raiment
John the Baptist, whose authority came from God, testified that Jesus was the Messiah, therefore as the Messiah Jesus’ authority also comes from God
Despite their obvious external differences, Jesus is more like John the Baptist than most people think
Although John the Baptist was the greatest person up to his time, the least in the kingdom of God is greater than he
Jesus gives us what we most long for and need, the forgiveness of our sins and justification, making us a new creation, blameless in God’s sight
If we genuinely repent and put our faith in Christ, every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill shall be made low
Jesus has a burning desire that the gospel of the kingdom of God be preached
In the messianic age barren Lebanon shall become a fruitful field, while the fruitful field of Israel shall be regarded as a barren forest
